One reason I think the time is flying by is, I’ve been super busy pulling together a few things this last month. Read on to find out…

Saturday Business Posts

If you followed last months post, you know I’ve started something new.

You can read more about that here ā–ŗ “Support Business Saturday Shout Outs.”

I’ve been featuring it on my Books by Rose Facebook page and it has taken off and has been very successful in meeting new business owners and creatives.

I will continue doing this until the end of December 2022 (That is, if I have enough people. If you know a business you’d like me to add, drop me a note.)

Just watch for this poster in November on Saturdays.

November Contest

Starting November 02, 2022, I posted the news about a contest I will be running for 4 weeks on my Books by Rose Facebook page.

It’s very simple. Just go to my pinned post and read all the rules on this post. This link is included for you to search for this week’s, ā–ŗ three book titles.

One big question I’m asked is, “where do I post my answers?” Just add them to the comment section. It doesn’t matter if others have answered the same. “Participation” is what I’m counting.

Let me know if you have any questions.

News On My Next Book

My next book, which is a Early Reader is done! Yay! šŸŽ‰

If you would like to be a Beta Reader for this book, please let me know.

After the holidays, I’ll be talking more about what’s to come. Since the content of the story is for spring and summer, I thought it would be best to publish until then. You’ll understand more after you read it. Leave me a note if you are interested. Thank you always! ā¤ļø

Turkey Decoration

Do you remember seeing an image like this at the beginning of this post?

Turkey Decoration
Turkey Decoration

I made this for our grandson back in 2018.

It’s a turkey holder with feathers. Once all the feathers are made, write something you are thankful for on the back and insert on that day. Once complete, you will have this cute turkey to hang as a decoration.

Another idea, use the feathers for bookmarks and/or give them away for gifts. Need more feathers for the next year? No problem, just make some more.

It’s really a simple project and you can get as creative as you want.

Use paper plates or heavy cardstock for holder and feathers. Basically, all the shapes are circles and circles cut in half and glued together. You can staple the pocket down for extra strength.

Directions:

Make turkey, by making a circle for the face and body. Cut half circles for the wings and glue together. Glue the turkey to a paper plate or circle. Decorate.

Make feathers, cutting as shown and decorate.

Create a pocket on the back. (Cut a circle in half. and attach.)

Add a long strip of paper or ribbon to hang on a nail or doorknob.

Write what you are thankful to the back of the feathers and add each day. (Don’t forget to add your name and date. These are fun to look at years later.)

Share feathers for bookmarks for gifts. Make more for the following year, if needed.

Don’t forget to add a little glitter to your glue. Brush over entire turkey and feathers for extra bling. It also will keep your decoration sturdy for years to come.

Let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy! šŸ¦ƒ

Wishing you all a wonderful November and a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Leave us a note to tell us what’s going on in your November! We’d love to hear from you.

As always,

Happy Reading! ā¤ļø
