Welcome July 2021!

Four Fun July Facts

Enjoy learning these 4 random facts I found for the month of July.

4th of July

First of all, I hope all my USA friends and family had a fun and safe 4th of July.

Do you know what the #1 food that is consumed over the 4th of July?

Hot Dogs!

In fact, “According to the National Sausage and Hot Dog Council, (NHDSC) Americans are expected to eat 150 million hot dogs over the July 4th holiday.”

Wow, now that’s a lot of hot dogs!

July’s Birthstone

If you have a birthday in July, then you already know the birthstone for this month. Yes, it’s Ruby! It’s also called the “King of Gems.” I love these gems. They can be colored anywhere from deep blood red to paler rose red.

July’s Birth Flower

The birth flower for July is the delphinium, also known as Larkspurs. Some sites say July’s flowers are varieties of the Water Lilly.

We’re going to share these Larkspurs today.

These bright blue flowers will brighten up any summer flower garden.

Update at Books by Rose

As this blog is being sent out, I’m also sending out my new book to a list of my wonderful Beta Readers. Once they take a look at it this month, I’ll have more news to share in August. I can tell you this for now. I had to do a lot of research on this book for young readers. It truly was one of my favorite parts.

Drawing the images to go along with all my facts and information was so much fun, too! Okay, I better stop now before I give too much away. Can you tell I’m excited to share it with you! Keep watching!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Do you have any fun facts about July that you can share? We’d love to hear from you!

As always,

Happy Reading!

I am quite sure almost no one eats hotdogs here in NZ in July but can see how they can be popular in the USA. I am looking forward to reading your new book with my little ones.

Interesting about the hot dogs, Julie. I bet your traditions are quite different there in NZ.
Thanks for your kind wishes for my new book. It’s been a tricky one to write, so I see lots of changes I will make over the next few months.
I appreciate you stopping by and leaving your comment today. 🙂

  2. Auden Johnson

Seeing that July birthstone has me wish I was born this month. It’s so pretty. My family usually grills hot dogs on the 4th of July but this year they decided to do half-smokes.

    • rosieadmin

I thought the exact same thing, Auden. Love the Ruby Gemstone!
We usually do hot dogs and hamburgers, too. These last few years we have ordered Pizza since we have had smaller crowds on the 4th of July.
I hope you have an awesome rest of July. I know your weather is very much like ours, so enjoy the warm weather. 🙂

  3. Cat Michaels

I’m likely more familiar with July fun facts as we have tons of family birthdays in this month. (In fact, my wedding band has rubies for my mother’s and hub’s b’days…and b/c I love the color -:D.)

Had to laugh….we grill hot dogs three times yearly…Memorial Day, Labor Day an especially the Fourth. It’s just not summer unless we do -:D.

Can’t wait to see your latest project -:D. All the best!

Cat, July is a big month for you. Lucky you to have a ring with those beautiful gems.
We don’t have hot dogs too often either, just for large gatherings.
Thanks for your kind words on my new project.

  4. Sandra+Bennett

Hi Rosie, Happy 4th July to you. I was fascinated to learn who had a birthday for each day of July. Pleased to see I share my birthday with Natalie Wood! I love rubies, and have a gorgeous ring with 3 deep red rubies set beautifully together among small diamonds. I treasure it as my eldest son design it and selected the rubies to have mounted in it. I just gave your new book a cursory glance, it looks wonderful.

    • rosieadmin

Hi Sandra, thanks for stopping by!
So fun to know you and Natalie share the same birthday. It was fun looking different ones up.
Love Rubies, too! How sweet of your son.
Thank you for looking my new book over. I appreciate your support always, Sandra.
